Sir Peter Viggers MP
Peter Viggers was born in Gosport and educated at Alverstoke School, Portsmouth Grammar School and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. His wife Jenny is a doctor. They have three children. Peter qualified as a fast jet pilot in Canada during his National Service. He was a solicitor and banker when he was selected as Conservative candidate for Gosport and became its first MP when it was created a new constituency. He served as Industry Minister in Northern Ireland between 1986 and 1989.
Knighted in 2008 for his services to the nation, Sir Peter and his wife lady Dr Jenny Viggers, live in the town in Royal Clarence Yard, Weevil Lane.
